GAME to Exit Administration Tomorrow with RBS as Buyer – Report

GAME could be out of administration as early as tomorrow. MCV reports that RBS has won the race to buy the troubled retailer, and a deal is very close. The good news for us gamers is that GAME Reward Cards will be honoured again, but only against pre-owned stock.

One interesting side-note is that it was in fact RBS who rejected OpCapita’s bid for GAME, as they are the company’s chief lender (also reported in MCV).

There are more updates coming in all the time, with the Independent reporting that OpCapita have come back  with a renewed bid for the company, and GameStop have moved for GAME’s Iberian and Czech Republic stores.

EA’s Euro 2012 will be DLC

EA have announced that their inevitable tournament tie-in will surprisingly not be arriving in-stores, but instead be a major piece of DLC for FIFA 12. IGN reports that UEFA Euro 2012 will include all 53 member nations, not just teams that qualified, and the eight official stadiums from tournament hosts Poland and Ukraine.

An all-new Expedition Mode will also be included, allowing you to take either your Virtual Pro or any European player on a journey through the European Championships as the nation’s captain. Beating opposing nations means you will be able to take quality players from their teams, forming the ultimate dream-team.

The DLC will arrive on April 24 for PSN (£15.99), XBLA (1600 MSP), and PC (2500 FIFA Points).

Aliens: Colonial Marines has “much more to offer” on Wii U

In an interview with Vox Games Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford believes Aliens: Colonial Marines on the Wii U will be the best version of the game. “The Wii U version has so much more to offer … no other platform can do what the Wii U can do.

If you love [Xbox] 360 games, you are not used to being in a world where you have this new interface. But once you get used to that, you imagine the possibilities; there are some opportunities that are just not possible on any platform that does not have that device.

“I don’t want to give spoilers away on some of things we are thinking of or things we have actually implemented already, but a lot of cool opportunities with that device that are going to make a very unique and compelling experience on that platform.

We have given a lot of attention. I think it will not be too long [before] Nintendo opens up their kimono a little bit more about that platform and where it is going, we will be there right with them talking about how Aliens is using it.”
