Daily News – LA Noire crediting controversy and some MMO updates
- Updated: 22nd Jun, 2011
We’re back from E3 with some serious suntans and a bunch of half-written previews that we promise we’ll start posting tomorrow. In the meantime, here’s your renewed daily dose of interesting and/or quirky gaming news.
- All is not well behind the scenes at Team Bondi. A group of developers unhappy with the way credits were handled on the hit game L.A. Noire have set up a site for alternative L.A. Noire credits that reportedly follow the IGDA crediting guidelines. Read their about page to see why.
Um… yeah, that’s kind of it for things I would consider news.. I guess this is what they call the post-E3 drought. Let’s see, what’s in my inbox?
- Mount & Blade has a content update. Now featuring “Female player characters and armors!” and “Healthier faster horses!” Yes, these are seriously quote taken from my PR email. Full list of updates on the site.
- City of Heroes is taking on the freemium model with City of Heroes Freedom.
- Okay, there’s still a week to nominate your favourite games websites and reporters for this year’s Games Media Awards. Just pick whatever categories you like and drop them an email. I went to the awards last year when I was covering the London Games Festival and as far as I can tell, it’s basically an excuse for a bloody big journalist and PR piss-up. Not such a bad thing, I suppose.
Erm… erm… trying not to scrape the bottom of the barrel here…
Okay, that wasn’t the most compelling news post ever but at least I didn’t mention the Hello Kitty iPhone game. Here, watch this gameplay footage of Luigi’s Mansion 2 on the 3DS instead.
