Networking

For anyone out there who’s as bewildered by the mysteries of good networking as I am, I found a great series of posts by veteran video game conference networker Darius Kazemi. His system pretty much boils down to nipping off and subtly taking notes on everyone you meet at a games-related event, not just looking for the big guys. You never know when a name will come in handy!
“I was at an interview at a game company, and I saw someone working there who I recognized as “the guy I had Mexican food with who went to school in Texas.” Right there I discretely checked my Palm, found “Mexican food, from Texas” guy, the name rang a bell, and I called out his name. He was happy to see me, and mortally embarassed that he didn’t remember my name. I didn’t hold it against him.”
All his stuff can apply to any networking situation, not just games. Check out the full series of networking articles at Tiny Subversions.
