E3 2015: Sony Conference and Trailers

E3 2015 - Sony Conference 2
Shawn Layden opened the press conference with a standard corporatey “we are so proud and excited” speech. Then a game happened.

The Last Guardian

  • Shuhei Yoshida is very excited to finally be able to talk about the game. Or at least, show us a trailer.

Horizon: Zero Dawn

  • Post-apocalyptic Earth is overrun by sentient robot dinosaurs
  • There”s a human woman who hunts them with a bow.
  • There”s a giant robo-dinosaur battle in open-looking world.
  • It”s from Guerilla Games.
  • Nice landscapes.
  • I want this.

Hitman

  • Non-gameplay trailer. I guess we”ll hear more about this at Square Enix”s conference tomorrow.

Street Fighter 5

  • Nice art style.
  • Beta on PlayStation 4 from from 23rd to 28th July. US players need to pre-order. In EU and Asia, go to http://www.streetfighter.com/beta/ and follow the steps there to win beta access.

No Man”s Sky

  • It”s a universe-sized sandbox full of choices.
  • They showed a boundary war between 2 factions in space. You can join in and take a side, or choose not to.
  • Every star in the displayed galaxy is a sun with planets and ecology. There are millions.
  • Everyone is trying to get to the centre of the galaxy, for some reason.
  • Sentinels guard planets from explorers.
  • All the scenery is destructible, which seems like a good reason to guard planets from explorers.

Dream

  • Media Molecule have been working on an “open dreamiverse”.
  • You can create any kind of weird dream-like scenarios you want.
  • I”m not sure if there”s anything more to the game than watching other people”s crazy dream scenes but with a decent filtering system, that could be totally okay.
  • CUTE BEARS! CUTE BEARS!

Firewatch

  • Couple of people having a chat as they wander through the forest before HORROR ENSUES. Sort of.

Destiny

  • New expansion is called The Taken King.
  • More supers.
  • More gear.
  • Another co-op strike.
  • More grind.
  • More bullet sponges.
  • Launches 15th September 2015.

Assassin”s Creed Syndicate

  • Evie trailer!
  • She hits people with a cane sword.
  • Throwing knives.

World of Final Fantasy

  • Exclusively on best online casino PS4 and PS Vita
  • Again, probably more from Square Enix tomorrow.

Final Fantasy VII Remake

  • It”s coming first to PS4.

    • Devolver Digital Games

    • Here”s a trailer showing 4 games they have coming to PS4.
    • Ronin.
    • Eitr.
    • Mother Russia Bleeds.
    • Crossing Souls.

    Shenmue III

    • They announced the KickStarter for Shenmue III here. If you want it, put your money where your mouth is.
    • $5 to support and get involved with polls and stuff.
    • $29 for a digital copy on PC or PS4
    • $60 for physical copy on PC as well.
    • $100 to be in the credits and get trial versions.
    • Loads of other collectible options
    • $10,000 for dinner with Yu Suzuki and a Shenmue script set.

    Arkham Knight

    There was a trailer. Eurogamer grabbed it from the conference feed.

    Project Morpheus

    • You”ll be able to play with 3 other players sharing the game world on the couch.
    • I can”t think of any less desirable way to experience VR.

    Call of Duty Black Ops III

    • Reveal from Treyarch
    • “Feels unlike any Call of Duty ever before” according to David Vondehaar.
    • PlayStation will get early access to COD maps.

    Star Wars on Disney Infinity

    • There will be two Disney Infinity playsets.
    • Limited Edition Disney Infinity 3.0 Starter Pack. Timed exclusive to PlayStation

    Star Wars: Battlefront

    • Split-screen co-op!
    • Running about in the desert!

    Uncharted 4

    • Gameplay demo!
    • It”s very pretty.
    • We know it”s real because it glitched. Unless that”s what they want us to think, oooooo.
