Level-5 Details Upcoming 3DS Games
- Updated: 25th Apr, 2013
As reported at last week’s Nintendo Direct Level-5, the studio who brought Ni No Kuni to Europe, will be releasing three new 3DS games over the next few months.
In a stunningly business-driven bit of cross-promotion, players who have a savegame for previous Level-5 3DS games Liberation Maiden, Aero Porter or Crimson Shroud on their 3DS will be able to unlock extra bits for each of the upcoming games.
To help you with this, the games will be on sale at ~40% off until 30th May. Liberation Maiden and Crimson Shroud will be available from the eShop at £4.49, and Aero Porter is going for £2.69.
The Starship Damrey looks like a fascinating bit of storytelling. Awakening on a starship with no tutorial and no goals, you’ll be left to discover who you are and what you can do. Why are you on a spaceship? What happened to wake you up?
Owners of the previous Level-5 games will unlock an extra scenario that explains more about the events, once they’ve completed the game.
Bugs vs Tanks will have you controlling WWII Panzer tanks that have been shrunk down to bug size. You’ll be battling against moths, ants and other fearsome creatures of the garden. While your tanks will start out as historically accurate, you’ll be able to customise them to your own style. How the platoon can find miniature turrets and vehicle paint in a garden is anyone’s guess but let’s not think about that too hard, eh? For those who like to game with friends, there is a 4-player co-op mode and you can send requests to other gamers over StreetPass.
Having any of the three Level-5 games that are on sale will net you a gold tank. Ooooooo…
Attack of the Friday Monsters! A Tokyo Tale refers to 1970s Japan, where Friday television would be filled with giant monsters battling each other over cardboard cities. At least, that’s the impression I get. You’ll be playing Sohta, a boy who is surrounded by these monsters. Every Friday a battle rages – he and his friends can’t help but be impressed by the sight of a Godzilla-like creature battling an Ultraman-like humanoid in their home town.
Bonus content for for this a Space Defence Department Junior Member Notebook with concept art and illustrations from the game.
