The Average Gamer

Wanna be on TV talking about games?

Video Camera Actually, I have no idea if it’s being made for film or television or what. Casting Unlimited are looking for gamers for a documentary to be shot in the U.K., France, Germany, Japan and the U.S. about video games and their impact on people’s lives. It is apparently going to be directed by photographer/clothing label guy/tattoo-hip-hop documentary maker Estevan Oriol

It is genuine, I have emailed them and got the following response:

Thanks for your response for the documentary. We are currently collating all suggestions and we will be in touch in the next few weeks.

I originally found this in Kotaku’s very brief post, most of which I shall copy below to save you the trouble of clicking all the way over to their site to find out who’s wanted and how to get in touch. The original casting call is also available through StarNow.co.uk:

“The casting agency is looking for:

  • Hardcore Gamers
  • Celebrity video game players
  • Unusual Gamers e.g. women, grandparents, priests
  • Family members that play night & day
  • Crimes that have taken place after playing games
  • Inventors of video games
  • Companies producing computer games
  • Professors in video game studies
  • Psychologists who use video games for therapy
  • Clubs, groups or societies dedicated to computer gaming
  • People with extraordinary stories about computer games
  • Gamers who have found love or friendship while gaming online
  • Anyone with an interesting story involving video games which they would like to share with us”

[snipped redundant bit]…If you’re interested shoot an email to sean@marksummers.com and mark@castingdirector.co.uk by March 13 with the subject line “Connected.”
