Batman: Arkham City – Latest Screenshots And Concept Art
- Updated: 12th Oct, 2010
Rocksteady Studio’s follow-up to last years brilliant Batman: Arkham Asylum looks to be shaping up very nicely indeed based on these screenshots. I’m expecting the game to look just as good as this given how stunning the original was.
As you’ll see from my review of Batman: Arkham Asylum, my biggest criticism of the game was around Batman’s detective mode being too awesome, too addictive and too damn helpful with absolutely no downsides or drawbacks. Take for example Assassin’s Creed. You have at your disposal the eagle view. This enhances your view of the world, highlighting your target with a bright red colour as well as highlighting other points of interest. The downside is that it makes all the other parts of your view so bloody dark that it’s all too easy to fall off a building. So you only use eagle view for a short time. I’ve heard that Rocksteady Studios has changed the way Batman’s detective mode works to stop players, like me, simply using it all the time. Rats ;-)
Rocksteady Studio’s have also been nice enough to release some concept art from the game, with these 2 shots just oozing atmosphere.
Update 13th October 2010: The Batman Arkham City fansite has been examining these latest Arkham City screenshots with a fine tooth comb looking for any new information about the villains in the game. Well, they think they have found something in the screenshot above (the one bottom left with “LOUNG” neon sign) showing Batman zip lining. It’s all to do with the writing on the billboard – Falcone Warehousing. Hope on over to the Arkham City fansite to read more about this discovery.
Batman: Arkham City is due for release on the 21st Oct 2011 sometime in Q4 2011.
