GTA V Collector’s Edition Details
- Updated: 23rd May, 2013
Rockstar have announced Special and Collector’s editions of Grant Theft Auto V Five, now available for preorder. They’ve also revealed that preorders of all editions will come with access to drive the Atomic Blimp that floats over Los Santos. Is there such thing as Grand Theft Blimp? The police could probably just mobilise a helicopter with a grappling hook and drag the thing back on course, couldn’t they?
Neither fancy edition has a UK or EU price yet but the Collector’s Edition is listed at $149.99 while the Special will go for $79.99 (plus taxes)in the US
The Special Edition will have:
- Full retail copy of Grand Theft Auto V: I would bloody well hope so.
- Collectible SteelBook with Exclusive Artwork: It’s a picture of Michael, Trevor and Franklin. Sorry, did you need more adjectives like “double-sided”, “never-before-seen” and, of course, “exclusive”?
- Blueprint Map: Now this, I would actually like. I am a sucker for game maps. It’s 21.5” x 26.75” (54.5cm x 68cm) blueprint view of Los Santos and Blaine County showing places to get fast cash and other useful locations.
- Special Ability Boost: The special ability for each character will generate 25% faster.
- Stunt Plane Trials: Additional aerial challenges spread throughout Los Santos and Blaine County. I do hope these sorts of things are in the normal edition as well. Not keen on another dead world like GTA IV.
- Bonus Outfits, Tattoos and More: Clothes and shop discounts and stuff: Basically, you spent more money so you’re a better person with preferential treatment.
- Additional Weapons: Shops in single player will have special weapons in their inventory available for free: the Pistol .50, Bullpup Shotgun and Melee Hammer.
The Collector’s Edition gets you all of the above, plus:
- Grand Theft Auto V Security Deposit Bag with Logo Key: All I can see is the same pic you can, but this looks pretty nice. Handy if you need to post anything and want to be sure it gets nicked by a gamer somewhere along the postal system. Maybe use it as a travelling bag for toiletries?
- Grand Theft Auto V New Era 9FIFTY™ Snapback Cap: We used to call these “baseball caps” but since none of us plays baseball, I guess that doesn’t really make sense.
- Custom Characters for Grand Theft Auto Online: “Get classic Grand Theft Auto characters to use within the Grand Theft Auto Online Character Creation System” says the press release. What the hell is Grand Theft Auto Online? Is it this? (It’s probably not)
- Unique Vehicles and Garage Property: In single player, you start with the 1930’s style Hotknife hotrod and the CarbonRS sports bike in your garage. In Grand Theft Auto Online, you get the high-end Khamelion electric car. Presumably GTA Online is GTA V’s online multiplayer mode. When do we find out what’s in it?
Grand Theft Auto V is coming out worldwide on 17th September.
