Deathmatch Village Is A Thing
- Updated: 8th Feb, 2013
Deathmatch Village is a new thing. Bloober Team, the creators of tactical puzzler A-Men on the PS Vita, are releasing this free team deatchmatch game across PS3 and Vita.
Players will wield dozens of melee and ranged weapons during fast-paced battles in a 3-on-3 arena. I can almost guarantee that one of the arenas will be on a farm and one of the melee weapons will be a pitchfork, because… well, they sent me a pitchfork. And some hay. In the post.

When you’re not battling other teams, you’ll be able to relax in your own village, customising your character and visiting the various shops like the herbalist or the training ground. There will be plenty of items and skills to include in your loadouts.
As well as cross-play, Deathmatch Village will include cross-save functionality, so anything you unlock under your profile on one device will automatically be available on the other.
Yeah, I know. These aren’t the sexiest details in the world. Is it a 2D Awesomenauts-style shooter? A 3D Brawl Busters-like arena? I have no idea but I’ll let you know as soon as I find out.
Deathmatch Village is aiming for a Q2 release – that’s April to June 2013. They’re taking sign-ups for the closed beta now, so if it’s something you’d like to check out, drop an email to the Deathmatch Village community manager.
