30th Annual Golden Joysticks – The Winners
- Updated: 26th Oct, 2012
The 30th Annual Golden Joysticks were held today. Game developers, PR and journalists got scrubbed up in their glad rags and gathered in a London hotel to find out which games were voted the best by 4 million gamers.
Or at least, 4 million gamers who will happily vote on whatever game their mates like.
And the winners are…
Best Action/Adventure: Batman Arkham City (fair enough)
Best Strategy: Civilzation 5: Gods & Kings (yup)
Best Mobile/Tablet: Angry Birds Space (I actually heard good things about it)
Best Downloadable: Minecraft (360) (ROBBED! <3 Journey. Okay, Minecraft 360 is actually pretty good)
Best Fighting: Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition (whateves)
Best shooter: Battlefield 3 (I’ve had a copy since December. Should really play it this year)
Best MMO: World of Tanks (it’s well big)
Best Handheld: Uncharted: Golden Abyss (Meh. It was good for what it is and I gave it a GREAT! review but Wipeout 2048!)
Top Gaming Moment: The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim: Throat of the World (I didn’t get this far. Also, ROBBED! Incredible moments every 15 minutes in Journey. *fangirls out*)
One To Watch: Grand Theft Auto 5 (okay)
Best DLC: Portal 2: Perpetual Testing Initiative (Yeah, that’s pretty cool)
Best RPG: The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim (Fair enough. Normally I’d protest the bugginess but they made for some great videos)
Best Sports: FIFA 12 (whatevs)
Browser-Based/Flash: Slender (Not played it)
Best Racing: Forza 4 (Not played it)
YouTube Gamer: Yogscast
Outstanding Contribution: EA Sports & FIFA (Okay? I’m not even sure what this award is for. )
Ultimate Game of the Year: The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim (Woooooo!)
Yup, you read that right. Not a single award for Call of Duty. Crazy times.
Well done to all the winners!
