EDGE PS4 Cover Photoshop Special
- Updated: 2nd Jul, 2013
EDGE magazine revealed their new cover this week. Hailed as “bold” and “brave” by some and “In gaming right now, it’s the safest opinion.” by others, people are certainly talking about it.
OF course, chances are that this edition went to the printers before Microsoft announced their U-turn for always-online, [nope, see below – Ed.] but let’s not let that get in the way of some good old British piss-taking. It wasn’t long before a slew of photoshopped alternatives popped up.
Ben Cordell of StickTwiddlers is still pining for a new Dreamcast:
Chris Scullion had some fun:
PocketGamer.biz remained resolutely on-brand:
Paul Knights eschews the console wars completely.
I freely admit, I don’t know what this is, from BitSocket. [Edit: I ‘ve been told that it’s a Neo Geo Pocket.]
And the obligatory dog from Steve Hogarty.
Update: More coming in! Here’s one from Joey Rabbit, channelling Martin Gaston:

Update: EDGE’s news editor Michael Gapper has confirmed that the magazine went to print after the Microsoft U-turn.
For those asking, Edge went to print after Microsoft's DRM reversal and the story reflects it.
