E3 2013 – Nintendo Direct, All The Trailers

In today’s E3 Nintendo Direct, Satoru Iwata told us about the huge list of games coming to Wii U and 3DS in 2013 and 2014.

Pokémon

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y will be released worldwide for Nintendo 3DS on 12th October. On top of the 17 different pokémon types, they’ve added another – Fairy pokémon. Sylveon will be a fairy type, super-effective again dragon types.

Pokémon-Amie is a new feature that allows you to feed, pet and play with your pokémon, using the stylus to stroke them in a throwback to Nintendogs.

Super Mario 3D World

We saw gameplay footage from Super Mario 3D World with playable Toad, Mario, Luigi and Peach in up to four-player multiplayer. Mario and the team have a new suit, Cat Mario. With it, you can climb walls or scratch at enemies. This game will come in December 2013.

Mario Kart 8

Racing vertically up tracks, underwater, and through the air, players will once again compete head-to-head in Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U. Motorcycles are making a turn from Mario Kart Wii. Mario Kart 8 is coming in Spring 2014.

Wii Party U and Wii Fit U

These will be more party and fitness games, of course. Rather than coming in spring/summer, both games have been delayed to later this year.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
We saw gameplay footage from Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, a new side-scrolling platformer for the Wii U. You should eventually be able to see it here on YouTube but someone’s left the video set to private at the time of publishing. Here’s a screenshot instead.

Art Academy

Art Academy is coming to Wii U. Thanks to the incredibly talented Miiverse artists out there, Nintendo are releasing a sampler that will allow people to create drawings using some of the Art Academy tools and post them to Miiverse.

Bayonetta 2

Here’s new trailer and actual gameplay footage from Bayonetta 2. She’s had a haircut. Nintendo will be showing more of her abilities during E3 and the game will be out in 2014.

X

MonolithSoft’s new open-world game from Tetsuya Takahashi’s team will be similar in style to Xenoblades. Players will occasionally be able to jump into a gundam robot suit and race or fly around the incredible landscape.

Super Smash Bros

Super Smash Bros is coming to 3DS and Wii U in June 2014.
Pikachu, Samus Aran, Donkey Kong, Mario, Bowser, Link and Kirby will all make a return. Mega Man also joins the roster with sword, spark, slash and flame attacks.

Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD
