Defiance Beta Keys Giveaway: PC, Xbox 360, PS3

Defiance - Ark Hunters The third and last Defiance beta is upon us. If you still don’t know what that is, go read this feature about how the Defiance TV show and video game are linked, then check out my hands-on preview. Maybe even poke around in the archives for various trailers and such.

In a nutshell, it’s a shooter-MMO that’s a bit like Borderlands would be after taking its medication and maybe settling down under a blanket with a nice cup of tea. It’s designed to scale battles up and down depending on the number of players involved and loot drops are managed on a per-player basis, so you don’t need to worry about people stealing your things.

You can try it for yourself this week, as I have 150 350 beta keys to give away, 50 for each platform. This beta doesn’t represent the whole game, not by a long shot. It’s just a small sample of what will be available at launch on 5th April.

Note that the NDA doesn’t lift until this Friday 22nd March, so no streaming, commenting or generally talking about your experiences until then.

PlayStation 3 Keys

The PlayStation 3 beta starts today, 19th March at 3pm GMT and runs until Tuesday 26th March at 4am. Here are the instructions:

  1. Redeem your code in the Playstation Store.
  2. Once you have entered your code the game will be available for download.
  3. Once the download is complete, follow the on-screen instructions.

Go here to claim your key. (Note that these are EU codes and will not work on other region PSN accounts).

Xbox 360 Keys

The Xbox 360 beta starts on Monday 25thFriday 22nd March at 3pm GMT and runs until Wednesday 27th March at 4pm. Here are the official instructions:

  1. Login to your Xbox account on your Xbox 360.
  2. Click the Xbox LIVE® Guide button in the middle of your controller.
  3. Scroll to the MARKETPLACE tab.
  4. Select the REDEEM CODE option.
  5. Enter the redemption code.
  6. Once you have entered your code the game will be available for download.
  7. Once the download is complete, follow the on-screen instructions.

Unofficially, you can probably redeem it on the Xbox Live website.

PC Keys

The PC beta starts on Friday 22nd March at 3pm GMT and runs until Monday 25th March at 4am. Here are the instructions:

  1. Create your account or log in with an existing Trion account at https://defiance.trionworlds.com
  2. Click the APPLY CODE tab.
  3. Enter your Unique PC Beta Key in the Apply New Code field and click APPLY.
  4. Check your inbox for your invite email with instructions on how to
    download or update the beta client. Please note this email will be sent out from March
    20th on, so if it doesn’t appear immediately don’t panic.
