Announcing… The Gaming Den
- Updated: 6th Feb, 2013
So you know about our gaming events calendar, where we collate any and all games-related events across the country, yes?
Well, we’re adding one more to that; on 23rd February we’re launching a new, regular event in London called The Gaming Den. It’ll be a space on Saturday afternoons where gamers can hang out, watch or play matches on massive screens, bathe themselves in nostalgia in retro room and grab a drink from the in-house bar.
In collaboration with Visual Collective, we’ll be projecting Aliens: Colonial Marines matches onto the wall of their studio gallery in Bethnal Green. From 4pm until late on Saturday 23rd February, you can stop by and challenge your friends or sit back with a beer and watch the xenomorphs crawl up the walls.
This is not the event. It is, however, the gallery we’ll be using. We’ll have more chairs and beanbags.
And here’s one wall of the retro room.
Scroll way down for one more pic.
There’ll be a Colonial Marines tournament going on throughout the day, with a Collector’s Edition of the game up for grabs, kindly provided by SEGA.
Over in the retro room we’ve been collecting consoles and the best multiplayer games we can find. Cosplayers are welcome and we’ll also have the Maids of England tending the bar. Challenge one of the Maids to a match, if that’s your thing.
Here are the retro games we have so far:
Nintendo 64:
- Mario Kart 64
- GoldenEye 64
- Blast Corps
- Perfect Dark
