Meccano Launches Gears, Sonic and Rabbids Ranges

Remember Meccano, the home construction kits where you could make anything with metal plates, nuts and bolts? I don’t because we filled our house with Lego and video games but hey, I understand they were very popular.

Meccano are now branching into video game branding themselves, with the launch of three new product ranges: Sonic & Knuckles Chemical Plant Racing Tracks, Gears of War locusts vs Delta Squad Battleset and Rabbids Collection. I had a good poke about with them at the press launch and the sets are most impressive.

If your kids (or you) want something that looks bad-ass, the King Raven helicopter and Armadillo APC are probably your best bet. For sheer unbreakability, the Rabbids “vehicles” are good, solid metal.

The helicopter is approximately 9 inches high while the Rabbids trolleys are about the size of an adult hand. Here are some pics:

I don’t know what happened to Anya though. And I’m sure that probably-Cole’s arms are on backwards.
