Carrier Command: Gaea Mission Screenshots
- Updated: 27th May, 2012
One of the first real-time strategy games from the era of classic home computers like the ZX Spectrum, Atari ST and the Commodore Amiga is currently being “re-imagined” by Bohemia Interactive. Harking back to the format of the original game, Carrier Command: Gaea Mission features a massive archipelago, 1st and 3rd person viewpoints, Manta (Multirole Aircraft for Nautical Tactical Assault) aircraft and Walrus (Water And Land Roving Utility Shuttle) amphibious vehicles. Add in a powerful 3D engine and you’ve got a very tasty game on offer.
Bohemia have recently released some new screenshots from the game and it’s looking really good. I can’t wait to get my hands on this at E3 2012 which starts on the 5th June 2012. So look out for my preview on here shortly after the show.
The original game had one of the best title tracks ever for a videogame. Called the Carrier Command Theme and composed by David Lowe, it was included on a cassette tape with some versions of the game. Listening to it now, it still sounds fantastic…”it’s just another mission.”
Carrier Command: Gaea Mission is released on the 27th Sept 2012 for PC and Xbox 360.
