Closed: Angry Birds Day – The London Protest And Win A Red Slingshot Angry Birds Toy
- Updated: 11th Dec, 2010
The Average Gamer went along to the London meet-up for Angry Birds Day to mark the one year anniversary of the game. After collecting our highly prized red angry bird plush toy (read on for how to win one) we started off with a silent and frozen flash mob at Covent Garden in front of many bemused tourists and Christmas shoppers. Playing Angry Birds whilst trying not to move is quite difficult. Then with our “Stop The Madness” placqards proudly on display we marched around Trafalgar Square, on to Horseguards parade and finished up at Number 10 Downing Street.
It was immense fun and all done in a light hearted way. Even some of the police officers en-route had their picture taken with an Angry Bird toy. The Angry Birds developer – Rovio Mobile – was having great fun following the #angrybirdsday hashtag on twitter. They loved all of our tweets.
We then reconvened at 8 Northumberland to play lots of Angry Birds on a high-def TV and projectors in a very swanky room. There were competitions to find the people who could get the highest score on a level (1-17 on iPhone and 1-5 on Android) and who could complete the most levels in 2 minutes. Both competitions were hotly contested. We also got a sneak preview of the intro movie to the giant eagle update which is coming soon to Angry Birds. There were also lots of completion prizes up for grabs including some awesome Angry Birds t-shirts and Powermats.
In honour of Angry Birds day we have one exclusive red slingshot angry bird toy to give away. It’s brand new and still in its wrapper. Rovio Mobile don’t sell them and it’s from the last batch available. On the bottom of the bird is a catapult to use to fling the bird. It makes noises when it lands too.
