Gran Turismo 5 – Ultimate Formula 1 Car
- Updated: 23rd Sep, 2010
As if getting Gran Turismo 5 completed wasn’t enough work for the Polyphony Digital team, they decided to pose the following question to Red Bull Racing:
If you built the fastest racing car on land, one that throws aside all rules and regulations, what would that car look like, how would it perform and how would it feel to drive?
With the assistance of Red Bull Racing’s technology, Polyphony Digital produced the Project X1 car which will be playable in Gran Turismo 5. To unlock the Red Bull X1 car in Gran Turismo 5 you need to complete the “Sebastian Vettel Challenge”, which appears when you reach level 30 in the single-player game.
Check out the sexy, if not very revealing promo film:
It also seems that Sebastian Vettel got involved as well as uber deign genius Adrian Newey (pictured below with GT5’s designer Kazunori Yamauchi). I’d imagine he wants to drive the thing in real life, but then again he’d probably crash it given the way he’s driving in Formula 1 at the moment.
Finally, take a look at this weather trailer for Gran Turismo 5. Oh. My. God! It looks amazing, especially the rain effects and the wet road at night. I can’t wait to play this game.
Gran Turismo 5 is out now only on PlayStation 3.
