Alien Breed 2: Assault Is Out Now

Following hot on the heels of Alien Breed Evolution on the Xbox 360 comes Alien Breed 2: Assault. Developed by Team 17 (using the Unreal 3 Engine) who have been responsible for every Alien Breed game to date, Alien Breed 2: Assault:

finds the player taking control of Conrad, Chief Engineer aboard the dying ship Leopold and continuing his fight for survival across the fatally damaged space vessel. His only hope relies on reigniting the alien space craft’s monstrous engines to rescue him from impending annihilation, but to do this he will have to survive wave after wave of relentless alien assaults

So kill all the aliens or die then? Mmmm, right, better kill all the aliens then :-)

Team 17 have also beefed up Alien Breed 2: Assault with lots of new features and weapons. Which is a good job as it faces a stiff challenge from the recently released Alien Swarm from Valve Software, which also happens to be free. I love the Alien Breed series of games, having played them since 1991 when the original Alien Breed was released. So I’m hoping Alien Breed 2: Assault will turn out to be one of the best Alien Breed games.

Game Features:

Survivor mode – Survive waves of alien attacks or team up with a friend to play it co-op

New equipment – Including Hardened Armour and new weaponry

Hyper Blaster – A destructive chain-gun

Rocket Launcher – Nice, big explosions!

New Aliens – A brand new ‘Webber’ alien will be making an appearance

Single-Player story mode – The single-player campaign mode follows on from the first game

Two-player co-op – Play specially customised assault maps for two players.

Exclusive Xbox™ LIVE Avatar award items – ‘Barnes’ Helmet and Body Armour (male and female versions) awarded to the player by killing a set number of aliens (the helmet) and by completing the single-player story mode (the body armour)
