Lights, camera, Wii!
- Updated: 4th Sep, 2006
IGN.com is currently hosting what seems to be the first real in-depth look at how the Wii controllers work during actual game play. Are they easy to use, or are they going be a real pain in the ass? Check out the 24 min video here showing one of their nancy boys journos playing with a Wii at the recent Leipzig Games Convention.
Wii games shown:
- Battalion Wars II (6 min demo)
- Mario Strikers Charged
- Red Steel
- Wii Orchestra
- Wii Tennis
- Wii Baseball
- Wii Golf
- Wii Shooting
Unfortunately there’s no Metroid Prime 3, Mario Galaxy or Zelda: The Twilight Princess shown as these games weren’t playable in Leipzig.
Battalion Wars II appears to be a right pain to control but that could just be the presenter being a bit useless. He did redeem himself by winning a game of Mario Strikers Charged, but it was against a pretty inept opponent to be fair. With the latest Mario game (and not a platformer!) looking like it could be great fun to play with a load of friends I’m going to keep an eye out for this little cherry when it’s finally released.
